Nate Townsend is a Los Angeles–based writer and director. His work combines the intimacy and restraint of dramatic cinema with the scale and visual language of advertising.

A former agency creative at DDB, Townsend has directed work for AT&T, Ford, Leica and Electronic Arts. His films have been featured by Ad Age, Adweek, Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, and recognized by Cannes Lions, D&AD, the Clios, the Shots Awards and AICP.

He also directed the feature documentary Wake Up: Stories from the Frontlines of Suicide Prevention, which premiered as part of the 2020 We Are One Global Film Festival. Townsend is also a photographer with a longstanding relationship with Leica, including commissioned films, still photography and work exhibited through Leica Gallery Los Angeles.
